If a woman's hormones are not balanced she is more susceptible to health risks. In addition, imbalanced hormone levels will make it difficult to conceive a child. It is crucial to maintain healthy hormone levels because imbalances can cause heart disease, cancer, and endometriosis as well as heart disease.

Hormones are indispensable to women's well-being. In fact, bad moods are often caused by imbalanced and fluctuating hormone levels. Hormone levels affect women on many levels including their sex drive, mood, and ability to get pregnant. In short, hormone levels affect the reproductive system and mood.

Estrogen and progesterone are female hormones that are produced each month. If the levels of estrogen and progesterone are imbalanced, then there will probably be negative, unwanted health affects. Another of the negative health affects of a hormone imbalance in women is early menopause.

Causes

A number of determinants can disrupt the hormone balance of women, leading to an abnormal menstrual cycle. The most common factors are birth control pills, stress, diet, and drugs. Using drugs and even being reliant on stimulants such as caffeine and nicotine can affect the hormone balance. Many experts and nutritionists also support the notion that poor nutrition physically changes the proteins in the brain, blocking signals to ensure balanced ovulation and hormones.

There are several causes for hormone imbalances in women. First, let us explain what is meant by hormones. For women, hormone balance has to do with maintaining ideal levels of estrogen and progesterone. Other hormones such as thyroid also affect hormone balance. It is increasingly common nowadays for young women in their early 30 to start experiencing symptoms of a hormonal imbalance. Some of the reasons for hormone imbalances in women include lack of exercise, stress, poor nutrition, birth control pills, and fad diets.
